Czech Center Museum
he Czech Center Museum Houston is a must-see. The museum features traditional Czech clothing, paintings, and other artifacts from the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum offers free tours and a gift shop. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday at 10am and 11:15am. Other tours are offered at noon, 2pm, and 3pm. For groups of five or more, you can also request a guided tour. You can also participate in cultural events and classes offered by the museum, including Czech language lessons. The museum offers several locations for weddings and events. The Prague Hall can seat up to 250 people and includes a dance floor. The Ecumenical Wenceslas Chapel is typically for small weddings with no more than fifty guests. Alternatively, the Brno Gallery, an open room in the center of the museum, can host up to 250 guests for a seated event. If you have time, make sure to check out the Vedem exhibit, which deconstructs and reinterprets the literary work of the ‘zine’.
